ESTABLISHED DATES: VERTICAL FILES

Vertical files contain newspaper and magazine articles, brochures, reports, and ephemera for businesses, organizations, homes, buildings, events, and people in the area. Vertical files are located in the Oklahoma Room on the 3rd floor of Central Library. The vertical files include information on Tulsa Public Schools. Some schools will have individual files, for example. T. Schools-Booker T. Washington. Other schools may have been categorized alphabetically by type, for example T. Schools - Middle Schools A-M. For other schools, you may find content in a broader category, for example T. Schools - Buildings or T. Schools - History.

ESTABLISHED DATES: BOOKSHELF

City Directories 1909-present (with these exceptions: 1945, 1949, 1952, 1962, and 1998)
Available in the Research Center on the 3rd floor of Central Library. Working backwards, search the directories at intervals of five or ten years to narrow down the date. In early years, you may need to look for the school by title in the names section of the directory. In later years, you can also look in the yellow pages section under Schools - Public.
