About the Nonprofit Resource Center @ TCCL

As a Foundation Center Cooperating Collection, the Nonprofit Resource Center @ TCCL provides visitors with free public access to the tools needed to form a nonprofit organization, search funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and more.

The Nonprofit Resource Center is located in the Research Center on the 4th floor of Central Library. The collection includes reference materials, circulating books, periodicals, and access to databases such as Foundation Directory Online. The Nonprofit Resource Center is open and available to the public during regular library hours.

Proposal Budgeting Basics

This Foundation Center live webinar will cover the basics of grant proposal budgeting, including calculating personnel expenses, determining reasonable costs, and understanding types of overhead and important financial documents. Prior attendance at Proposal Writing Basics is strongly encouraged.

Before You Seek a Grant: A Checklist for New Nonprofits

This class is designed for new nonprofits or community groups with very little experience in grantseeking. We focus specifically on foundation fundraising.

The course will address such questions as:

  • What groundwork do I have to have in place before approaching foundations for funding?
  • What are the steps to obtaining incorporation and nonprofit status and where can I get some help to do so?
  • What are the characteristics of successful nonprofits?

This session will provide you with a step-by-step checklist approach to help you determine your own readiness for foundation fundraising.

Registration is not required. Seating available first come, first served.
