2016 Children's Summer Reading Program: Home

Learn more about how children can participate in the 2016 Summer Reading Program at the Tulsa City-County Library!

How To Participate

Sign up at any of our 24 Tulsa City-County Library locations! 

The program begins May 31. When you sign up, you will receive a reading log, your first library visit sticker, an event guide for the summer, and a free bookmark and bag!

You do not need a library card to participate.

What You Get

For reading 8 books and visiting the library 4 times, children will earn a medal and book of coupons for free food and entertainment. They also will be entered into a drawing for a variety of prizes.


For reading 12 more books (a total of 20), children will earn a BONUS PRIZE. This year, the bonus prize is an inflatable baseball bat.

No library card is required to participate.

2016 Children's Summer Reading Program

  • May 31 through August 6
  • Sign up at any Tulsa City-County Library location
  • For infants through children who have completed fourth grade
  • Read* 8 books + 4 library visits = Medal and Coupons for food and entertainment
  • Read* 12 more books (20 total) = BONUS prize
  • No library card required
  • GOAL: to encourage the love of reading!

Important Dates

Tuesday, May 31 - The Summer Reading Program begins! Come to the library to sign up and start logging your books, making your library visits and getting your stickers!

Monday, June 20 - The first day you can get medals, coupon books and bonus prizes at any of the library's 24 locations.

Saturday, July 30 - Library Summer Reading Night*, Tulsa Drillers @ ONEOK FIeld, 7:05 p.m.

Thursday, August 4 - Library Summer Reading Night*, Tulsa Roughnecks FC @ ONEOK FIeld, 7:30 p.m.

*Children and teens must complete the Summer Reading Program to earn a free ticket to each game.

Saturday, August 6 - The Summer Reading Program ends.
